This is a great place to karaoke because the light effects on the stage are pretty cool and the mic set up his pretty unique. It can be a while to get on the mic if it is busy, but otherwise pretty easy. They are not kidding around. This is absolutely a cash only place. There is an ATM inside and a smoke patio in the back so things are extra convenient.

Consider one of the Best Dive Karaoke Bars in San Diego, the Lamplighter is a bar like no other. Opening at 6:00 AM to provide service for those over night late shifters, karaoke starting 9:00 PM, & ending services at 2:00 AM just to start all over in 4 hours. The Lamplighter is the local neighborhood bar that people from other neighborhoods talk about .

Love this dive bar. It's old and dark and not the best furniture but it's perfect. :-) Bartender was super nice.

First time here and I am coming back very soon!! I recently moved to SD and was looking for some good dive bars and this place was just what I was looking for. Love the staff and love the security. Overall great atmosphere to be around people and drinks!

It’s an old school bar so expect that when you walk in. It is cash-only and for that the drinks are the cheaper than most bars. We love the morning bartender. She’s been our favorite for years! I always bring guests from out of town here to just do something different from the norm. Drinks are good, atmosphere is divey and there are some funny people in there to talk to and get to know too

Been here a few times over the years, more so recently. Really great local bar that reminds me of some bars back home. The karaoke hosts are super personable and encourage me to sing even though I suck lol the bartenders are fast and east-coast friendly. If you go on a night when jj, Spider, or Jess is working youre gonna have a great night! Sidenote, the best smoking patio in San Diego. Well ventilated with lots of seating! If smoking isn't your thing, its still a great place to have a conversation away from the karaoke lights and sound. Ive met a ton of bartenders out there, definitely an Industry hang

Our lamps have been lit! This is an energetic, welcoming karaoke bar full of community. They have great drinks, pool, and an excellent MC! They switch off between regular songs and a karaoke song that you can request. Make sure to pick out your songs on the drive over and sign up as soon as you get in, because the wait is pretty long!
